  • And then we wonder why…

    faithful-in-christ:

It’ll never cease to amaze me how a “happy” verse will get hundreds or even thousands of likes/reblogs but a more “serious” verse or teaching will be lucky to break a dozen likes/reblogs.

And then we wonder why prosperity gospel is so popular. People, in general, want to hear good things and be patted on the back. People want to know everything will be okay and that they can live however way they want to. People want to be freed to follow their hearts. People want to think they are good people and they are enough. People want to be fooled into thinking He will be blessing them even though they’re living outside of His will.

Not many people want to know how much of a wretch and sinners they are. Without knowing, or acknowledging, how desperately wicked they are, how can they truly hang on to Christ for dear life? Many so-called Christians have made a god of their own making who is weak and not all-knowing and who isn’t capable of judgement because their made-up god is only capable of love and nothing else. These “Christians” are following their hearts, even though the Bible says our hearts are desperately wicked. These “Christians” don’t know the true God of the Bible: the God of the nation of Israel, who is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

And then we wonder why so many prosperity preachers have the biggest Churches and the largest congregations in the US, and in the world in general. These false teachers avoid calling many sins such as homosexuality, transgenderism, racism, divorce, polygamy, adultery, unbelief, premarital sex, and other “popular” ones for what they truly are: SIN. These prosperity preachers are, at best, entertainers and motivational speakers rather than preachers of the Word of God. People are choosing to have their ears tickled with motivational speeches rather than to hear the hard truths of the Bible. Self-denial, repentance, and obedience are no longer preached in the vast majority of the Churches.

Then again, none of that is new and it was already predicted long ago by the apostle Paul:

The time will come when people will not listen to the truth. They will look for teachers who will tell them only what they want to hear. They will not listen to the truth. Instead, they will listen to stories made up by men.

This IS the whole TRUTH!!! Knowing that there is the Goodness of God and the Judgment of God! Don’t be fooled by people deceiving you with fancy “feel good” speeches! Surrender your life to Him and He will be all you will ever need!! Because HE LOVES YOU

    Walk by Faith

“Lord if it is you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “COME,” Jesus said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord save me!” Immediately Jesus reaches out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith” he said “why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:28-31)
In these scriptures, Peter climbs out of the boat to go to Jesus. Let’s break that down right quick. Peter comes out the boat-comfort zone. Wanting to come out and meet Jesus where He is on the water- the unfamiliar or out of his comfort zone. But as he is walking he sees the wind-fear/doubt/distrust and begins to sink. Is this resonating with anyone else? We want to come out of our comfort zone and meet Jesus. Be with Jesus, walk with Jesus. But our comfort zone and that could mean anything to us individually. People, places and things. Holds us in place. So the question for this part is do we stay in the boat, the shore, the safe space? Or do we walk out on the faith that we profess to have and meet Jesus on the water. Meet our savior on the water. And when we go out to meet Him on the water are we doing so doubting that Jesus will keep us from drowning, failing, falling. Do we go out there carrying our heavy burdens of the life we had in our comfort zones? No ma’am, No sir, we walk out in faith. Not fear. Knowing that #God has us. And stay in the comfort of knowing that if we do come out of our comfort zone and we do sink that Jesus- Matthew 14:31 IMMEDIATELY #Jesus reached out his hand and caught Him. “You of little faith,” he said “why did you doubt?” It may not be comfortable at first. You may lose people or things along the way. But I tell you one thing I know for sure Matthew didn’t regret coming up out of that boat. He may have regretted being afraid and sinking. But I know he didn’t regret it. And how do I know. Put your self in his place. Would you regret it? Step out in faith whatever that looks like in your walk. Come closer to God. Amen
